Mitchel Hudson, President and Chief Executive Officer

In every family or group of friends there always seems to be one or two people you can call on to help you with anything electronic. It seems that I have always been one of those people. My experience began when my high school got its first computer. There was no doubt what my degree would be in college. After graduating, I became the Chief Technology Officer for the university’s Department of Public Safety and architected their first local area network.
After college, I became an officer and helicopter pilot in the United States Army where I remained the “computer guy”. I spent the latter half of my career as an Automation Officer. As the Chief of the Information Support Activity, Enlisted Records and Evaluation Center, I supported the Army’s entire enlisted force. For my efforts, I was awarded the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer’s Award for 2002. My next assignment was to the Army’s Human Resources Command where I worked to integrate Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard information resources into an integrated system of systems and to aid in the design and implementation of the largest Enterprise Resource Planning system in the world.
It seems that I have been studying information management my whole life. My goal is to study the theory and practice of applying information resources management to improve the way people use information technology to support their lives. The Army Automation Officer Course refreshed and updated my education mid-way through my Army career. I graduated from the Advanced Management Program at the National Defense University ’s Information Resources Management College and completed a Master of Science degree at Syracuse University in Information Resource Management with a focus on Enterprise Architecture and Resource Planning. Those programs gave me a solid base in information resources policies, transforming organizations, and capital investment management in addition to project management and enterprise architecture principles. I was formally trained in Microsoft operating systems, networking, communications and security and have maintained certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

In 1999, I noticed that there was a lack of support for small businesses and churches for information technology support and advice. I began Hudson Computer Services to fulfill that need. Since then the company has remained committed to providing the best quality support at the lowest possible cost while training the staff to maximize the technology they have in operating their business. The partners and friends I have met in these endeavors continue to be the most rewarding part of my entire career.
- 1988-1989, Chief Technology Officer, University of Arkansas Department of Public Safety. Installed information technology infrastructure and architected first local area network
- 1998-2002, U.S. Army Officer, Chief of Information Support Activity, Enlisted Records and Evaluation Center. Managed all network operations and software development. Deployed several e-service applications for world-wide support of US Army soldiers.
- 1999-Present, President and CEO of Hudson Computer Services, LLC. Providing managed technology services to small businesses and non-profit organizations.
- 2002 Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Individual Award for Official Military Personnel File and Online Soldier Selection Board Systems.
- 2002-2004 Chief Architecture and Integration Branch, Army Human Resources Command, Personnel Information Systems Directorate. Provided technical integration advice on electronic personnel systems, server consolidation efforts, and knowledge management and collaboration suites of tools.
- 2004-2006 Executive Officer, Enterprise Human Resources Division of the Army's Human Resources Command. Represented the US Army on technical and operational matters in the design of world-wide personnel and pay system for the Department of Defense.
- 2006-2009, Chief of the Knowledge Management Branch for the Standing Joint Force Headquarters of the United States Northern Command. Integrate people, process, and technology into a seamless framework of knowledge sharing in support of homeland defense and security missions.
